clean house + baby friendly

One of the most time consuming parts about preparing for babies has been washing and putting away everything in the nursery. Thankfully, my mom was here to help finish up the clothes. By the time she got here, I had lost my mind with nursery organization… I basically had reached a point where if it wasn’t done, it wasn’t going to get done. #momtotherescue

Also, I may or may not be nesting. I’m de-cluttering, scrubbing, dusting, washing, re-washing, organizing… it never ends. So I’ve been living in allllll the cleaning products recently. This can be concerning… When I look at all the cleaning products and their ingredients, I sometimes start to wonder if I’m doing more harm than good. This is one of the reasons I love Method products so much. I know I’m getting a good clean, while using safe products.

I’ve been worried about getting things done before the twins get here. And I actually think we might be reaching that point. But, one thing I know I don’t have to worry about are the products I am using to wash everything. Seriously, how do baby clothes add up to so many loads of laundry?! There are a few popular go-to detergents when you welcome babies home, but I have been using Method products for a few years now, and I had no intentions of changing things up!

Method products are natural, non-toxic, + biodegradable. Read: Friendly. I’ve also always loved that they are 100% cruelty free, and do not test their products on animals. With fragrance free options, and overall low-ingredient formulas, I have zero hesitations about using Method products with babies!

So what products do we use on the daily? Yes, seriously, I use all of these things every day.

all purpose cleaner gets used every single day… It cuts grease and grime off our appliances in the kitchen, fights mildew in the bathrooms, and has been great for dusting our bookshelves and windows! Fighting chicken juice? I just go for the antibacterial variety. I’ll probably use this more often with babies too. Especially when I start finding greasy fingerprints everywhere…

in the bathroom we’re constantly fighting mildew in the showers. (we live in one of the most humid places on earth, and nothing is ever totally dry). The daily shower cleaners really slow it down!

At our kitchen and bathroom sinks, you’ll also find method hand soaps. For a product you’re using multiple times a day, it’s nice to know that you’re using something safe. Similar, but new to me, is the body wash – I haven’t purchased this yet but now that I’ve gotten to sample it, I’m hooked! I’m always a fan of fragrance free cleaning products, or plain fresh scented products (not a huge fan of flowery or citrus smelling). So I’ll definitely be buying the waterfall scent!

And second to last but certainly not least, the dish soap. It lasts forever and cuts grease just like your favorite competitors!

Ok. Here’s the BIG ONE. Laundry detergent! I use the 4x, and you’ll be surprised at how little you need to use! I don’t want to switch products, and have a whole other supply of products just for babies. If it’s safe for them, it’s safe for all of us. So I’m super glad that we can keep using method laundry detergents for all of our clothes, babies included! I mostly use the fragrance-free and will probably continue that with newborns. But I also love the beach sage! They also sent me a box of their dryer sheets to try, and I’m excited to use them!

The best place I have found to purchase method products is at Target – they have the best prices and the biggest selection.

So what products do you use in your home? Did you change things up when kids came along? We’re excited to continue using Method products. Make sure you check them out!
