When you live in a town full of beach houses, you are blessed with unlimited amounts of design inspiration! I won’t lie, I spend a lot of time driving the islands looking at houses. Hey – a girl can dream!
Of all the houses, on all the islands, I was super impressed to find this gem of a beach house, right across the street! Logan Homes is building a new, waterfront, neighborhood across the street from ours, and they were generous enough to let me come check it out!
First & most important – what’s a southern & coastal home without an awesome front porch? After all – front porch sittin’ is a way of life around here, and this house takes the front porch cake!
It’s all in the details – take a look at this wood ceiling & the design in the porch rails. Nothing was left untouched.
The top & bottom porches offer all the same design elements – but there are options! One buyer said he didn’t trust his teenage sons to have a front porch off their bedroom, so he took away the top porch and designed the bottom porch to wrap around the house! #genius
I also love the lighting that is carried throughout the exterior of this home. The front porch has matching ceiling fans, and consistent lighting elements on the front porch, over the garage, and at the back door definitely add a touch of charm!
The teal siding, paired with bright white windows – dreamy! One final detail I could not get enough of, is what’s called a tabby finish, which looks like a mixture of sand & stone along the bottom edge of the entire house! It almost looks like they plastered sand onto the house. In true island life fashion – the sand sure is everywhere! If it didn’t look like a beach house before, it sure does now.
Let’s talk about this view! One reader quickly noted that this house didn’t have a sound view. But a short five minute walk puts you not only on the water, but at your own personal slip at the marina. #swoon
Besides, a pond view is pretty enough for us!
