So my doctor told me to be packed for the hospital at 30 weeks… I had a small heart attack… what do we pack?! I have to tell you – the jackpot of information is found in blogs! Go momma bloggers, go! I’ve found tons of lists, even a whole list of what you don’t actually need to bring for
Unlike a normal singleton pregnancy, I’m at a much higher risk for a c-section. Oh twins. Making things crazy from the very start! I’ll be packing for four days, and if we need anything after that, I’ll send hubby home for a quick restock.
Most likely, I’d go into labor on my own at home, or, you know, in Target… and we’d head to the hospital. After an ultrasound to see how sweet babes are positioned, we’d make decisions from there. The less likely scenario is that they just don’t decide to come, and we hit a scheduled c-section around 38 weeks. Y’all raise your hand if you’d want to carry twins to 38 weeks. Anyone? Anyone? Me either.
For Husband: This one’s easy. 4 t-shirts. 4 boxers. 4 pairs of socks. 2 Jeans. 2 Gym Shorts. Oh the bliss of being a man.
Toiletries: travel size!
Maxi Dresses: With the likelihood of a c-section, I’m planning to wear dresses instead of pants. I’m taking two!
Nightgown: I found a great nightgown that’s gasp long enough for me + loose around the midsection… It’s also loose enough up top that it’s nursing friendly.
Robe: Let me tell you what! Finding plus size clothing is hard enough. Plus size maternity clothes? Affordable? Near impossible. That said, I’m so excited to be teaming up with Pink Blush Maternity – where I finally found the pregnancy clothes jackpot!
This robe is not only perfect for wearing before babies come due to its cozy size and high waisted tie, but it will also be perfect for after babies, when I’m needing something comfortable to wear & still wanting to feel like a mildly decent looking human being. Honestly, I’d have ordered this robe even when I wasn’t pregnant! It’s so soft, I basically plan to live in it from here on out.
If you’re in need of any apparel (women’s, maternity, nursing, baby, etc), I’d recommend taking a peek at everything Pink Blush has to offer!

Unmentionables: Nursing bras and socks… & I found quite a few mom-bloggers that recommended packing… wait for it… Hanes’ Men’s Underwear for wearing the week or so after babies! Highlights: high waisted, looser fit. I’ll let you put two and two together. I’ll be sure to follow up on this trick!
The (real) Camera: Not relying on the iphones for this one! Given our likely ample time in the hospital, we’ll have tons of opportunity to get lots of pictures with our brand new babes!
Headphones + Chargers: There’s no telling who will be sleeping and when. Don’t wake sleeping babies? How about don’t wake sleeping new parents of twins.
For babies: Going home outfits! Our hospital provides everything they need while we are there… So we’ll bring a blanket for each, and a going home outfit for each…. with maybe a few extras.
What about you? Is there anything you wish you had at the hospital? Things we definitely won’t need? Leave a comment below and share your thoughts on packing for the hospital!
